How a hill works

In shortHeight is profit. Everyone who holds the coin stands on the hill at how far today's price is above or below what they paid.

Every coin on The Hill has a hill. Here's exactly how it's built.

Height is profit

Each holder stands at a height set by one number: how far the current price is above or below their average entry price.

You bought atPrice nowYour height
$0.010$0.020+100%, well up the hill
$0.010$0.011+10%, just above the break-even line
$0.010$0.005-50%, down near the bottom

The hill has a break-even line running round it. Everyone above it is in profit. Everyone below is underwater. The further from the line, the more they're up or down.

So a hill is a picture of the whole holder base at once. A tall, crowded top means early holders sitting on big gains (and big sells waiting to happen). A hill where the crowd is below the line means most people bought higher than today's price.

Average entry, not last buy

Your position on the hill uses your average cost: every buy and every sell you've made in that coin, weighted. If you bought at $0.01, bought more at $0.03 and sold half at $0.02, your height reflects all of that, exactly as your profit does.

We work it out from the chain itself, by replaying each wallet's swaps. Nothing is self-reported.

Where the numbers come from

  • Holders and balances come from the chain.
  • Entry prices come from replaying every wallet's buys and sells on that coin.
  • Price comes live from the pools the coin trades in.
  • Flags come from patterns in that history: when a wallet bought, who funded it, whether it ever bought at all. Flags.

When you open a coin for the first time, the hill is built in a few seconds. After that, every trade on the chain moves one martian in real time.

The top of the hill

The holder with the biggest profit in dollars holds the flag. That's the king, and there's a whole page on them: The king.

Reading a hill in two seconds

Try itWhich hill would you buy?
  • Tall and crowded at the top → early money is deep in profit. Expect sells.
  • Crowd below the line → most holders are underwater. They're either diamond hands or waiting to break even and get out.
  • Big flags near the top → the profit up there may be free (airdrop), engineered (bundles, snipers) or the dev's own. Treat it as supply that can hit the market any moment.
  • Lots of green BUY badges → people are buying right now. Lots of red SELL → the opposite.
